R Kelly and the Polygamists: Delusional Female Defenders.

The R. Kelly trial is currently underway after about 15 years of delay. Its big news that the jurors in the case viewed the infamous video yesterday.

The 27-minute homemade video shows a man having sex with a young female, who is naked for most of the recording except for a necklace with a cross dangling from it.At the start of the videotape, the man hands the female money and she mouths the words, "Thank you." She is often blank-faced, impassive. The man speaks to the female in a hushed, monotone voice, and she calls him "Daddy."Songs from the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys blare from a radio. The female dances — the man out of view. Back in view, he has sex with her. The man walks up to the camera to adjust it a few times, but his face is often obscured.Prosecutors say the man in the video is Kelly, and that the female is a girl who was as young as 13 when the tape was made between Jan. 1, 1998, and Nov. 1, 2000. Associated Press
Despite all this, can you believe that a group of BLACK WOMEN went down to the courthouse to hold a demonstration on his behalf? Of course you can if you have been reading this blog for any length of time. When it comes to the dehumanizaiton of Black women in this country, don't sleep, many Black women don't value their own lives, let alone the lives of other Black women. Black Acheivement USA, a regular podcast listener loved to say "We love our sons, and raise out daughters.... WITH CONTEMPT!
"
If you have not read "R Kelly Can Always Count on His WOmen" by Mary Mitchell of the Chicago Sun Times, you must. Mary lays it all out there after a group of Black women staged a rally on behalf of R. Kelly. Since Mary did an outstanding job reading my mind, I will let her article speak for the both of us. My Sisters, we are not alone!!!

I can think of only one reason young black women would go down to 26th and California and rally around R&B singer R. Kelly.

Ignorance.

Although the women who rallied last Friday outside of the courthouse live in a metropolitan area, they are as ignorant about what constitutes appropriate sexual behavior as the women who were locked away on the polygamous compound in Eldorado, Texas. Chicago Sun Times

I leave you with this from Mary's column:
Ironically, while Texas officials raided a polygamous compound to stop older men from marrying underage girls, underage black girls are being impregnated every day by older black men, and these men are rarely held accountable. Mary Mitchell
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! AMEN! COSIGNING!

I won't give you any more quotes take your page clicks over to the Sun Times and show a Sister some support for breaking it down like a fraction, but

We have previously covered the mental illness that causes some Black people to parrot the thoughts of antebellum slave owners. The idea that there is no such thing as a "virtuous" colored girl over the age of 14 and the concept that Black women CANNOT under any circumstances be the victims of sexual exploitation.

Notice that when they went in to the polygamous cult to take away 400 children you didn't see any people rallying at the court house. White teenage girls have to be protected to the tune of millions of dollars and the state taking bus loads of kids away, but Black teenage girls are out of luck. Even if there were large numbers of arrests of predatory older men and boys, I can assure you the NAACP, Rev. Al et al. would be rushing to complain that these men were being treated "unfairly".. Tell that to Warren Jeffs.

What about equal protection under the law for Black teenage girls??? The full weight and force of the law is coming down on the heads of the Texas polygamists while 48% of Black teen age girls purportedly have an STD.

Our "leaders" and delusional supporters will fight like Hell to keep folks out of jail, even when they prey on other members of the community, but did anybody ever think that the victims of these criminals are living in jails of their own? Tell me a 13 year-old who purportedly got pregnant by a fully grown old Karl Malone wasn't "confined" What would she have grown up to do. What places would she have seen? What dreams did she have to defer? What struggles did she endure? Let's not even talk about disease, mental health, and poverty which is its own form of violence. Despite assertions of too many Black folks to count, statutory rape is not a victim-less crime.

Genarlow Wilson Plays "Victim" on the Tyra Show--Beating death in Cleveland

WAOD Reader, Faith reports that Tyra Banks, the defender of fierce Black women all over the planet had Genarlow Wilson on the show about sexual predators trying to portray him as some kind of victim. Lets be clear... there is "not guilty" and "innocent." One is a legal term, the other is a moral term. Genarlow Wilson might be free, but he ain't innocent. I won't restate my position against rewarding bad behavior. You can read my previous posts

Where's the Outrage about R. Kelly and Genarlow Wilson?

Genarlow Wilson(Archive)

I wonder how long it will take for Genarlow and his Mama to make it to the Oprah Show. Note that Tyra, like all Genarlow Wilson apologists fails to mention what Mr. Wilson and his buddies did to the 17 year old girl in the room. Let me remind you:
The videotape was "Exhibit A" because it depicts a horrific crime: a gang rape of a semi-conscious, 17-year-old girl, followed by a bizarre display of sexual precociousness by a 15-year-old girl. That's the truth recorded by Genarlow and his friends that fateful night. I suspect that is also why Ms. Bernstein hated it whenever McDade used it to rebut her version of Genarlow's crime.

No matter how much (two glasses of Cognac) the 17-year-old may have had to drink, no matter how much she may have flirted with those boys, she did not consent to having sex with all of them, one right after the other. Yet it never occurred to the "smart" and "spiritual" Genarlow to say, "Stop it. We should not be doing this." No. Genarlow watched, waited and gladly took his turn. When they were through raping her, Genarlow helped his friends drag the comatose victim to the bathroom. They opened the door, pushed her in, watched as she fell to the floor and closed the door. I guess she wasn't much fun anymore. SOURCE
...talk about inconvenient truth. Gina, when will you stop harping about Genarlow Wilson? When folks stop trying to portray him as a hero or a victim. If what he did to the 17 year old wasn't predatory, what is? Y'all feel free to copy and paste and pass it on to Ms. Fierce. If Wilson had any humility or decency, he would thank his lucky stars that he is not locked up in the clank and live his life in obscurity.

Any day now I am waiting for Tyra's show on Dunbar Village, Ebony Dorsey, Romona Moore, Daniyah Jackson, Latasha Norman, Nailah Franklin, Marcie Crane, Kireasha Pam Linkhome, Shirley Geanes, Latoya Natasha Thomas, Dymashal Lashon Cullins, Tyesha Patrice bell, Daphne Philisia Jones, Tamika Antoinette Huston, y'all let me know when she has some real victims on the show. Feel free to let Tyra know how you feel... Faith already made her thoughts made known on the Tyra Show blog. WAOD readers are FIERCE!

Black Women Behold Your Future

Statistically speaking, Black women will live to about 76 years old and if you happen to get married, your husband will die before you do. In other words, you can expect to spend the last of your golden years alone. Well think about this quote the next time you are thinking about retirement.. Be careful where you decide to spend your sunset years, you could end up like 78 year old Irene Bennett:

In retirement, she and her husband had hoped to enjoy simple pleasures: watching people pass by and planting flowers around their neatly kept home. But the violence in the neighborhood makes that impossible.

"You pay for your home. You work hard. You retire, and you want to enjoy, just come out on your porch and ... wait for the summertime to come," she said, shaking her head. MSNBC

Irene is talking about livingi n a neighborhood that is so violent that 15 teens beat a man to death in the middle of the street in Cleveland. They killed a man named Charles Gooden Jr... after one of them urinated on the man's head. I have already told y'all I am retiring to Canada or Alaska to live off the land.

The Fine Art of Missing The Point

Professor Tracey, WAOD Contributor

I have been extremely distressed and concerned at the comments directed at today's postings on Genarolw Wilson and the Hovey St. Murders. Once again, the discussion has regressed into blaming the black female victim. There is something so frightening about the black community that we have become apologists for anything and everything. There seems to be nothing that can occur in our communities that we are not willing to deflect or discount the responsibility or culpability of the main perpetrator(s).

First, the Hovey St. Murders. If the focus of your attention is on the "choices" the female murder victims may have made with romantic partners, maybe you need a humanity check. I don't care if a woman is dating the biggest and baddest drug dealer in town, NO ONE should murdered for that reason. All women in the world have made bad choices with romantic partners and will contiue to do so until the end of time. That is not new.

What about the "choices" of black men who are willing to target black women and black children for robbery and murder? What about the "choices" of black men who are willing to murder children over a paltry amount of marijuana and cash? What about the "choices" of black men who murder black women and black children even when they do not get the tiny amount of drugs and cash they were after?

And let's be completely honest here. Does anyone actually believe that these murderers would have hesitated to kill anyone that was in the house that day, regardless of their connection to drugs or not? If an innocent 4-month old child can be shot, than anyone could be shot. The "choices" of their mothers has absolutely no bearing. And for the record, the police have made no connection of any of the victims to drugs or cash in the house. No connection has been made as to who's drugs and cash, these murderers were after.

Second, Genarlow Wilson being rewarded with a college scholarship is like when Reverend Al Sharpton wanted to throw a parade in Brooklyn for convicted rapist Mike Tyson when he left prison. Mr. Wilson was convicted of a crime and he served a more than fair sentence for that crime. Anyone is welcome to argue about whether what he did should have been considered a crime or not at all, is welcome to debate that point all day, by themselves. That argument is besides the point at this time.

The only point that counts is what exactly did Mr. Wilson do to earn a college scholarship? What exactly did Mr. Wilson do to earn all the flattering media attention he has received? What young brother that has not engaged in the immature and amoral behaviors of Mr. Wilson, did not receive a college scholarship? The Tom Joyner Foundation screwed up. They should have given scholarship to all involved in this case or none at all. The very act of giving the scholarship to Mr. Wilson is clearly stating that the victims didn't count and that they don't need a fresh start in their lives.

The very fact that we don't know what has happened to the young women involved in this case, proves how the entire black community continues to reward black male sexual predators for bad behavior and continues to punish and diminish black female victims. How many of you have ever given two thoughts to what happened to Mike Tyson's rape victim, Desiree Washington? The answer for the majority of you is NEVER! She never finished college. Her parents divorced from the stress of her case. The family was devastated financially because of the case. And Mike Tyson has done nothing over that last few years, but solidly prove that the black community was extremely misguided in it's support of him during that rape trial.

We need to stop figuring out ways to deflect blame in these cases. I have come to the conclusion these discussions have become fruitless and pointless. Clearly some black men in some communities do not feel empowered or blessed with opportunities and this is a shame. Yet, this does not give them the right to abuse and murder black women and children. Yes, some black men are in deep trouble, but there are many black women in these same communities that are being victimized twice, once by the same system repressing black men and twice, by black men that feel empowered by repressing black women. Black men may not have the power to change the first, but they damn sure have the power to change the second.

There is nothing wrong with this blog or others that push the concerns and issues of black women and girls. I am sick of reading that false charge by posters, I never write that one anyone's blog. This blog and others like it are trying to make you think differently, more broadly, than the black community and the outside world has thought about black women and girls in the past.

Morehouse Man? Genarlow Wilson, Rapist and Child Pornographer Gets a Fresh Start- -What About the Girls

I am sure many of you may be offended by the post title. Good! Consider us even! I really don't care if anyone else on the planet agrees with me... I'm too disgusted to care!

I don't have a problem with redemption. Lord knows I've found myself on a lonely Damascus Road a time or two in my lifetime, but one thing redemption requires is the truth.

What is the reward for smoking weed, drankin', making kiddie porn, turning one drunk/drugged/passed out girl into a trash receptacle for seminal fluid and making a 15-year-old into a porn star ? Well folks, your reward is a full scholarship to a prestigious university and accolades from the NAACP.

Yeah forget studying, staying out of trouble, treating other human beings with dignity and respect. No need to bother with that. You can engage in all manner of bacchanal behavior and receive rewards as long as your victim is a Black woman or girl and you manage to come in contact with "the system." Oh yes, because ain't nothing like having some constitutional protections trampled on to convert the sinner into the saint, the predator into the prey, and the idiotic, stupid, and dumb into "the boy genius." (he had a 3.949037 GPA didn’t you know?)

It appears that the Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story Arc has been completed. In case you missed it, Genarlow Wilson is now a true authentic African American hero. Most recently seen keeping company with politicians, preachers and potential presidents at Ebenezer Baptist Church as part of the MLK holiday festivities. To Mr. Wilson’s champions, I trust you won’t quarrel with this tiny little footnote in the Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story Arc.

Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story Arc (GWRSA)
You might be compelled to shed a tear or two after reading the flurry of Genarlow Wilson Redemption stories flooding newspapers and TV newscasts as Genarlow Wison, "the boy genius" (because after all he had a 3.943 GPA) headed off to Morehouse on a full scholarship provided by the Tom Joyner Foundation. HOWEVER, before you get all caught up in the Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story Arc , may I inject something that the Genarlwo Wilson Redemption Story Arc can't bear the burden of... THE TRUTH!

Now Genarlow Wilson Redemption Arc revisionists would have you believe that Genarlow Wilson was just a young man doing what young men do when he got sent to prison for ten years. They would have you believe that Mr. Wilson was making out with his 15-year-old girlfriend all by their lonesome when the law came in and ripped the young Romeo from the loving "arms"/”lips” of his beloved Juliet and tossed the star crossed lover in the clank for 10 years because he was a Black boy engaged in normal teenage indiscretions. He was a student athlete and honors student with a 3.9309720943 GPA.

Consent? Who needs consent?
Now Genarlow Wilson's champions love to talk about the "willing" or "consensual" 15 year-old girl. In fact you cannot read a single Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story without the word “consensual ” being listed. WHY? Well because consent matters in the Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story Arc and since there was no legal consent and for one of Mr. Wilson’s victims no actual consent, the GWRSA has just decided to inject some into the GWRSA because this heroic tale kind of sucks if there wasn’t consent.

"When you hear that it's 10 years for consensual oral sex for two kids, you go, 'That doesn't sound right,'" says Senator Johnson. "But when you see the tape, you see ... drugs, alcohol, attitudes, arrogance, and disregard. While it may be consensual, you don't know about intimidation or if she feels obligated. That's why you set an age in the first place where you can make a decision like that."Christian Science Monitor.

Consent is a legal term with legal meaning and legal consequences. A 15-year-old can't consent to having her ears pierced let alone having sex in the eyes of the laws of MANY states- So my question is when it comes to young Black girls, what exactly is the age of consent the minds of the GWRSA proponents? 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7? I mean if I read one more blog refer to what went on in that room as typical teenage behavior, I'm going to have to call Chris Hansen on the Black blogosphere.

What’s Missing From the GWRSA?
But moving past the annoying practice of trying to confer "consent" where the law says there can be none, I challenge you to find even one mention of a 17 year-old girl anywhere in the Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story Arc.

What 17 year old? Oh you haven't heard about her? Oh that's riiiight. The 17-year old and what Mr. Wilson did to her kinda mess up that whole Romeo and Juliet storyline because running a train doesn't really fit the Genarlow Wilson Redemption Arc plot line. She's hard to find because the revisionists have excised the 17 year-old's gang rape from the Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story arc:

SOURCE

Oh yes my people. There is a tape. A tape that the boy genius left behind (BRILLIANT !). You can't see the same tape because it is child pornography, a minor detail, the authors and champions of the Genarlow Wilson Story arc want you to forget because if the tape is child pornography, then that would make those who made the tape???? Yeah exactly. Inconvenient truth creeping in again.

Victim less crime?

"He might've made a mistake, but it's not enough to throw this man away as a human being," said SCLC President Charles Steele. "This is an opportunity to bring about healing."ABC

Healing for who? Now " the boy genius' "champions will argue that an alleged abuse of prosecutor discretion, Georgia's convoluted and contradictory statutes which provided for ten years for oral sex while barely a year for intercourse make the actual facts of what went down in that Douglasville, GA hotel room irrelevant. I disagree.

Color of Change refers to what happened in that room as a "victimless crime" Oh really? Is that what you call a 15 year old being preyed on by older boys who know better? So Statutory rape is victimless?
Seventeen percent of the U.S. teen population is African American,
with 70 percent of black teens testing HIV-positive. One in 10
African-American teenage girls test HIV-positive in the nation's
capital, the highest percentage in the country among this age group.
When asked why such a high percentage test positive, Johnson said, "As
long as girls see themselves as glorified sex objects in hip-hop
videos, HIV/AIDS will increase within this
population. SOURCE
Now I got money that says that those one in ten- (mmm hmmm that means if you pull ten teen girls off the street in DC one of them will be HIV positive- yes DC's stats are approaching those in several sub-Saharan countries)- As I was saying...I've got money that says those one in ten Black girls were infected by their older "boy friends" who knew better. Because they are teen girls who lack any semblance of good judgment when it comes to matters of the "heart" (honey love ain't got nothing to do with it)- they are less likely to pause and demand from these older predatory men and boys the use of any kind of protection because if the older teen or man cared about her they couldn't be having sex with a child in the first place. Statutory Rape is not a victimless crime. Older men and boys preying on teenage girls is not a victimless crime. While sex may merely be a form of extremely enjoyable calisthenics for older men and boys, the consequences for teenage girls can be severe even deadly. Victimless crime my arse.

His Once and Future Victims?
Who would Genarlow Wilson be if he hadn't been stupid genius enough to commit sex acts with an underage girl on tape? Why he would likely be a Jr. or Sr. in college-a member of the football team. How many other young girls and women would he and his football buddies have run through? How many other "victim-less" crimes would he have committed? According to many of y'all he was acting within the normal parameters of malehood in America. How many other drugged passed out/semi-conscious women would Mr. Wilson have dumped on a cold bathroom floor when he got through with her? How many other teenage girls would he have passed around? Tell me how being caught up in Georgia's zany criminal code transformed Genarlow Wilson from gang rapist and kiddie pornographer into a saint worthy of a full scholarship and a profile in ESSENCE?

To the Victor Goes the Spoils
Y'all can engage in revisionist history if you want to. Removing all mention of the inconvenient details of the videotape "the boy genius" and his buddies shot. You can engage in revisionist history acting as if "the boy genius"could not have known that 15 will get you 20 (or in his case 10). You can try to completely erase all mention of the 17-year-old from your Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story Arc. You can even lie and say the 15 year old girl was Wilson's girlfriend although I challenge you to find a 17 year old boy that will pass his "girlfriend" around to his five buddies. So revel in your revisionist history where you basically write the harm suffered by the two girls in that room away. You have been very successful.

What About The Girls?
What about the girls? Did any of the marchers on behalf of Mr. Wilson ever reach out to the two girls who were just as victimized. Their lives were wrecked too except they have had to go through this ordeal ALONE. Nobody writes about the death threats the girls received.

Imagine how the 17-year-old must feel. Here she is- she's been gang raped. She goes through with prosecutions just like we're told to. What happens to her? She gets excised from history because the Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story arc only works if we forget what he did. The Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story Arc only works if was keep all the focus on "the boy genius" and never ask “what about the girls?"

So congrats Genarlow Wilson... you're a living breathing embodiment of the Black American Dream. Abuse black woman and girls ... get ahead. Rape and exploit young Black girls, get an award from the NAACP... Hmmm where have I heard THAT before? I guess the NAACP is keeping to its MISSION ("NAACP Contacts WADO- National Office Won't Be Speaking Out On Dunbar Village- Addressing Hate Crimes Against Black Women Not 'Mission'"

Scholarships For Everybody!
"I'm so happy Genarlow has decided to attend an HBCU [Historically
Black College & University]," said Joyner, whose top-ranked morning
radio show is aired in 115 markets reaching nearly eight million
listeners. "He's been through so much over the past couple years and
I'm glad the Foundation can play a role in helping him shape his
future. You know I'm passionate about my black colleges, and I've
always believed that these colleges offer a nurturing and
confidence-building environment." SOURCE

Now several of Mr. Wilson' compadres are being released as well – So I am assuming that Mr. Joyner is going to be handing out scholarships to those "innocent" young lads as well. I mean they were in that room that night too. They were "victims" of that pesky statutory rape law as well.

Since When Did Being Stupid and Predatory Turn You Into a “Victim”?
So all the boys who had the misfortune of stumbling into a hotel room on New Years Eve, accidentally bringing drugs and booze, tripping and accidentally performing sex acts on the body of an unconscious Black girl, and inadvertently dragging her to a bathroom and dumping her on the floor when they got through with her- yeah those boys meet the qualifications for the Tom Joyner Foundation Statutory Rapist Scholarshipolooza (TJFSRS)... But let me assure you that the ONLY people guaranteed NOT to get a full ride from the Tom Joyner Foundation will be the two girls who were in that room.

They're Black girls after all...who cares about them? Their families don't care-who lets their 15 yer old and 17 year old run around on new years eve. The law doesn't care. The “community” doesn’t care.
Morehouse President Dr. Robert M. Franklin welcomed Wilson to the campus, known for distinguished alumni, such as the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. filmmaker Spike Lee and former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. David Satcher.

"Genarlow Wilson is representative of many of our young black men who
must overcome incredible obstacles before finding a place
-- like Morehouse -- where they are valued, mentored and given the opportunity to reach their full potential," said Dr. Franklin, whose college offers more than 26 majors and enrolls nearly 3,000 students. "Given Morehouse's 140-year history and tradition of providing access to rigorous academic preparation, character development, leadership development and public service -- we firmly believe that Morehouse is
Genarlow's 'house', and that he will grow to embody the tenets of a Morehouse Man." SOURCE
I wish "the boy genius" all the best. If he is going to be running around out here in the land of the free, give him a good education so he can earn a living ( I predict a book any day now). I just hope that when he finally grows up that he treats the other girls and women with the same decency and respect that he claims to have for his mother and younger sister.

We will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

REFUSE TO BE SILENT! If you get time today... inquire into who much Tom Joyner has set aside for the two young women who were in that hotel room that night. Mr. Wilson isn't the only one whose life was destroyed... after all, "the boy genius" had the "community" wrapping their arms around him...the girls were thrown over the side of the ship because the Genarlow Wilson Redemption Story couldn't bear the weight of their memory.

Genarlow Wilson is no Hero. Being stupid and predatory does not make you a hero. Being caught up in a conflicting statutory framework doesn't make you heroic. A hero is a young Black girl that can manage to wake up in the morning and keep breathing knowing that folks are holding her rapist on their shoulders and handing him out full scholarships, plaques, and invitations to sit beside politicians, preachers, and presidents.

Let that marinate!

"Protest Against Pedophiles" Planned for R. Kelly Concert.

2007 shall be known as the year Black folks called out other Black folks publicly and the community lived to tell about it. Folks are planning to get down right indignant, as we all should be, when R. Kelly performs in concert at a church in Los Angeles, CA on Friday. Okay well technically, the church owns The Forum where the concert is taking place

The Forum -- located in Inglewood, CA -- former home of the Los Angeles Lakers, is owned by Faithful Central Church, pastored by Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer. Eurweb

Isn't Rev. Ulmer the same preacher from that dreadful piece of anti single Black woman propaganda "Soulmates"?

How can the church allow R. Kelly to perform on Friday night, have service on Sunday morning and believe all is well?" Ali continues. "The message the church is sending to young children is that money is more important than taking a stand in support of victims who have been victimized by R. Kelly and other child molesters." SOURCE

I think the protesters have a point. What would Jesus do?

Essence Magazine's Exclusive Interview With Genarlow Wilson: When Will The interview they Girls

Y'all know our stance has consistently been to point out the fact that folks have completely tossed aside the two girls in the Genarlow Wilson case. We have always maintained that the 8th Amendment argument was a legitimate one, but making that argument didn't necessitate trying to minimize what happened in that hotel room that night. Let's not forget that the 17 year old ( I guess she's 19 or 20) girl has maintained throughout that she was gang raped and the snippet of video played on cable news corroborates that she was A) Drunk or B) completely passed out.

So explain to me WHY Wilson is being portrayed as a conquering hero? Well Essence magazine has an interview with Wilson up on their site. I hope this isn't the complete interview. The interview is supposed to appear in their January issue.

ESSENCE: I hear the tape from the party is hard to watch. What were you all thinking?
WILSON: Yeah, at the time we were just living in the moment. We didn’t know that what we were doing was breaking the law. We were just being teenagers.

Um my how times have changed because back in the olden days we knew that 15 would get you 20. Lots of folks have said the 15 year old "consented". I remind you that 15 year olds cant consent to getting a spray on tan or their ears pierced, therefore, she could not have consented to having sex with up to six boys while they basically made her into a porn star.
ESSENCE:Share your thoughts on the case and well-wishes for Genarlow below.

Essence, what about thoughts and well wishes for the two girls in the case? What about the 17 year old? Where was the outrage that the girls in the case received death threats or that the 15 year old's own Mama wouldn't stand up for her own child against exploitation.

When we were all growing up we did stupid stuff thank goodness we didn't have YouTube and celebrity sex tapes. Our mistakes are merely memories. Today teenager's mistakes are memorialized on video for all eternity.

I wish Genarlow Wilson well. I hope he leads a productive life, but let's not deify him by basically calling him Jesus.

I hope Essence, a women's magazine asked about the two girls in this case and how this case turned their lives upside down as well.

Why is it that all of our conquering heroes these days appear to be young black men going into or out of jail? Jena 6, T.I., Genarlow Wilson, OJ ( just kidding)? In the words of one of my favorite sites... "Something in the milk ain't clean."

Genarlow Wilson Speaks - Jesse Jackson Compares Genarlow to Jesus

Well this looks promising. Perhaps he won't follow the path of the Jena 6 and start wilding out now that he is free:

Wilson offered a word of caution to young people. “A few minutes of fun can be a lifetime,” he said. “There’s not going to be anymore parties for me for a while.” SOURCE

Well said. David Banner did you hear that? He doesn't sound like he is blaming anybody... yet.

Jesse Jackson, Baby Daddy Delux, is already serving the Koolaid and engaging in hyperbole comparing Genarlow Wilson to Jesus Christ:

“We thank You for his parents, who would not surrender in the face of tyranny,” Jackson said. “Now its morning time, and we feel a sense of joy that it’s morning time. We’ve endured the crucifixion, and now we see the stone is rolling away.” SOURCE

Really Jesse Really? Overkill? Well one poster over at the AJC pointed out the lunacy of this comparison:

A 17 year old gets a 15 year old drunk and high. With a pack of buddies (one of whom has impregnated a 12 year old) he participates in an orgy while being videotaped. This is your Jesus figure?SOURCE
