WAOD Applauds High School Principal for Banning Body Baring Prom Dress: Marche Taylor

We pause to applaud Dr. Aubrey Todd, III, principal of Madison High school for having something Marche Taylor's parents and guardians did not have: standards and good judgment.

Marche Taylor wants you to know that she went to jail when she was escorted from her high school prom. Why? Because she go into a an argument and refused to leave when she was informed that her prom outfit was in appropriate. Apparently the school wants girls to wear undergarments... and gasp GARMENTS as opposed to a few scraps of fabric to cover her entire torso.

Some argue that Marche is being creative and expressing herself. Well fine, let her creatively express herself somewhere else. To be clear, she was not arrested because she was wearing a skimpy dress. She was arrested because she was trespassing. Her invitation to be at the prom had been withdrawn and she was given the option to leave or go to jail... which option do you think she chose?

In this age where stripper and porn culture has permeated every crevice of society, it is nice to know that there are still some people willing to stand up like Gandolf and yell "Thou Shall Not Pass!"

Even Beyonce' knows that there is a time and place for everything. You won't see her showing up to the Oscars in Marche's outfit. Prom=formal. Two thin scraps of sheer fabric = not formal. Tis a shame someone couldn't manage to teach her this BEFORE she graduated from high school. I can't wait to see what she wears to her first job interview.

You can email Dr. Todd through the HISD website. Do take time to thank him for not caving into the foolishness.

PS. Her date looks dapper. How did formal dress for boys end up being coat tails and slacks and formal dress for girls end up being the latest selection from Fredericks of Hollywood.
